The acoustic duo Lost Axis consisting of Joe Popp (Vocals, Guitar) and Shaugn O’Donnell (Lead Guitar) came to fruition during a project Joe Popp was working on called Popp Over America where he toured the lower 48 contiguous United States with his guitar mounted on the side of his motorcycle. The pilot episode was shot in 2015 but not released until 2017.

The band recorded and released one album in 2016 titled Magnetic Place.The material contained some songs from Joe’s previous bands, and new originals written by Joe and Shaugn. The production of the album was purposefully stark and honest.

Lost Axis played extensively in New York City, but also toured California, England, Ireland, Netherlands, and Belgium. The band broke up when Joe decided to return to playing solo again and ended up doing the Popp Over America tour by himself.
